On 29 and 30 June 2022, about 60 staff from the Official Receiver’s Office (“ORO”) and 16 staff from the Financial Services Branch of the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau undertook a joint restriction-testing declaration (“RTD”) operation at Block 1, Elegance Garden, Tai Po. Solicitors, Insolvency Officers, Administrative Officers, Treasury Accountants, Accounting Officers, Executive Officers, Official Languages Officers, Analyst/Programmers, and colleagues from clerical, secretarial and workman grades were involved in the operation. Comprehensive services were provided for residents during the RTD operation, including arranging for residents to undergo testing in an orderly manner, distributing such supplies as food packages, anti-epidemic proprietary Chinese medicines and rapid antigen test kits to them, arranging those infected for admission to community isolation facilities and taking relevant law enforcement actions after the operation. The conduct of RTD operations is one of the important anti-epidemic measures of the Government. As part of the civil service, ORO will continue to shoulder various anti-epidemic responsibilities to fight the virus.
On 12 and 13 March 2022, about 100 staff from the Official Receiver’s Office (“ORO”) undertook a joint restriction-testing declaration operation with about 20 colleagues from Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau at Block 1, Tsui Ning Garden, Tuen Mun. Colleagues gave up their full weekend to undertake anti-epidemic duties, involving visiting homes of residents, arranging registration and testing for the residents and distribution of food packs, rapid antigen test kits and Chinese medicines. The team included Administrative Officers, Solicitors, Insolvency Officers, Treasury Accountants, Accounting Officers, Executive Officers, Official Languages Officers and officers from clerical and secretarial grades. Together we worked tirelessly to identify COVID-19 positive persons and ensure necessary steps were taken to help contain the pandemic. Food packs, anti-epidemic proprietary Chinese medicines supplied by the Central People’s Government and rapid antigen test kits were distributed to about 730 residents affected by the operation. With the cooperation and concerted efforts of all involved, the operation was successfully completed at around 4 pm on Sunday, 13 March 2022. As committed civil servants, we at ORO will continue with our efforts to help Hong Kong at this extraordinarily challenging time.
